Quidich Innovation Labs
Quidich Tracker (QT) is a first-of-its-kind, custom-built technology for cricket, providing real-time optical tracking of players on a cricket field. The system works in tandem with an object tracker via a monocular camera placed at the highest accessible point of the stadium. The end-to-end workflow is integrated into an interface that allows our operator to offer on-demand fielding graphics and analytics, live from the OB Compound.
Traditionally in cricket, stories are built around batting and bowling stats, with limited data and
analytics focussed on fielding strategies. QT offers a solution to add fielding as a dimension to the sports’ storytelling potential by showcasing and analysing field plots, full framers, and data analytics to highlight team strategies. QT is a custom-built, self-learning system and is the only one of its kind that integrates optical tracking with a single camera, to analyse player movement on a cricket field. The system is fully compatible with the Vizrt engine and has been built in-house from the ground up.
Quidich is building QT as an all-encompassing three-part solution. Key features include:
1. On-demand Real-Time Field Plot
2. Player Highlights Module
3. Data Integration Module
4. 3D Stadium Environment
