BEST SPORTS COMMUNITY OR CSR SCHEME – OTHER SPORTS
Bullseye Maths – Professional Darts Corporation
The Bullseye Maths scheme was introduced by the PDC to promote numeracy at all levels following research which suggested that Key Stage 2 maths levels had dropped following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The PDC worked with Soapbox PR and Nottingham College’s Room 180 Academy on the design of a maths-based programme, which was supported by family maths charity Maths On Toast and launched in February 2022.
In-school sessions at KS2 level have taken place around PDC televised events, featuring appearances from top PDC players including 2023 World Champion Michael Smith, who launched the scheme at his former primary school last year.
Feedback from pupils involved was overwhelmingly positive and demonstrated the impact of Bullseye Maths sessions, with planned expansion of the programme in 2023 and 2024 to include further in-school visits and the expansion of resources for teachers and youth leaders.
An online portal was launched, featuring videos with PDC players & referees discussing maths which also included the interactive Mathlete game and downloadable maths worksheets, while a Bullseye Maths resource was also provided for Maths Week England 2022.
DP World Second Life Container – 160over90
For the 2022 DP World Tour season, DP World required a hero idea that would convey their capabilities as an end-to-end logistics provider and engage with fans around the world, using the DP World Tour platform.
Our challenge was to find a connection between the world of elite golf and the world of global supply chains – uniting the two and giving DP World an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities through the lens of golf.
The bespoke golf ball container was born; collecting used and unwanted golf balls at DP World Tour events throughout the season and then giving them a second life in grassroots golf projects around the world. All tying back to aim of growing the game of golf globally.
Through the container campaign, which included both physical and digital activations, fans helped increase DP World’s visibility in the sports sector and showcased its end-to-end supply chain solutions.
Most importantly it provided golf balls to thousands of people to help to grow the game of golf globally and drive positive community impact, whilst also helping to reduce the impact of environmental hazards caused due to lost golf balls and re-circulating golf balls into the golf cycle.
ITTF Foundation
The #TableTennisUnited Fund, a joint effort by the ITTF Foundation, ITTF, and World Table Tennis, has been actively supporting the table tennis community during crises. Since its inception in May 2020, the campaign has backed 132 projects across 57 countries, raising over €250,000 from 50 donors to ensure the sustenance and growth of the sport.
Individuals like Bayarsaikhan Yadamtsoo, a Table Tennis coach from Mongolia, described Table Tennis United as a lifeline for her academy during the covid-19 pandemic.
In response to the war in Ukraine, the campaign expanded its efforts to aid the table tennis community affected by the conflict. The current funds raised will support Ukrainian partners and promote training opportunities and sponsorship for players to participate in international tournaments. The campaign has also appointed Galia Dvorak as a Goodwill Ambassador to facilitate communication with the Ukrainian table tennis community. The #TableTennisUnitedFund has achieved notable milestones, including sponsoring players for various tournaments, supporting para table tennis players, and providing aid to the Ukraine Table Tennis Association. Its impact was exemplified by its support for Mohyliv-Podilskyi, a town devastated by the war, where the ITTF Foundation successfully reactivated table tennis training by delivering essential equipment.

Premiership Rugby HITZ Programme – Premiership Rugby
HITZ is Premiership Rugby’s flagship education and employability programme, working with more than 2,000 14-24 year-olds across communities in England every year since it launched in 2008. The aim of HITZ is to help young people classified as NEET (not in education, employment or training) turn their lives around through gaining qualifications and developing their personal, employability and life skills.
The programme uses rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship to support young people to make positive changes in their life; improving participation in sport, physical and mental health, educational attainment, employability and community cohesion.
With a focus on engaging and inspiring people in communities from diverse backgrounds, and with varying support needs, HITZ is an alternative to mainstream education delivered via the network of 11 premiership clubs and club foundations nationwide. HITZ harnesses the power of rugby to change the path of a young person’s life and the community they live in for the better.
Premiership Rugby’s commitment to the HITZ programme is unquavering and 2023 marks 15 years since its inception. The positive outcomes achieved by the students and the lives changed is proof that this community programme works.

Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s most successful social care charities, delivering 10 million hours of care annually to people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health concerns, brain injuries, dementia, and complex care needs.
Through twinning the charity’s unrivalled reach, expertise, and connection with disabled communities with the opportunity of major events, this programme has changed the lives of people aged 12–106. Delivering more than 11,500 hours of life-changing support, it has had an unprecedented impact.
