Georgina joined British Fencing in April 2014, successfully implementing a new insight-led strategic approach to increasing participation in fencing.
This followed her international fencing career, representing GB at many European and World Championships and spending several seasons ranked in the World Top 16. She holds 10 individual Senior National Championship titles, and has won several Commonwealth medals (including Gold in 2014). She still competes and most recently won individual bronze and team sliver at the 2022 World Veteran Championships.
Georgina is president of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) Women in Fencing Council, volunteers as an FIE Safeguarding Officer and is a recent graduate of the IOC Certificate in Safeguarding course.
Georgina is passionate about creating environments and opportunities for people to participate in sport where they can be safe, have fun and feel welcomed. Georgina also believes that fencing can be used as a powerful tool in social impact and was the driving force behind the creation of projects such as Muslim Girls Fence.
Prior to her role at British Fencing, Georgina worked as a COO, project manager, strategist and business consultant for a variety of companies including Legal & General and Accenture.
Georgina was awarded an MBE in 2022 for services to fencing.
