The host for the Sports Business Awards ceremony on 10 November 2023 will be Colin Murray
Colin presents Channel 4’s Countdown, and late nights on 5 Live, however his passion will always be sport.
He presented 5 Live’s Fighting Talk for over a decade, as well as Quest’s Football League Coverage. For many years he anchored the BDO Lakeside World Darts Championship on BBC plus Eurosport’s Snooker Coverage. He also hosted talkSPORT’s mid morning programme Monday to Friday for 3 years, tripling the audience in the process.
Colin originally came to prominence on BBC Radio 1, hosting many shows and forging a successful partnership with Edith Bowman, eventually co-hosting the weekday afternoon slot ‘The Colin and Edith Show’. He won his first coveted Sony Award for Music Broadcaster Of The Year during his final few years at Radio 1 when presenting the 10pm – midnight slot, indulging his love of Alternative Music.
He began his career as a news reporter, cutting his teeth at the Ulster News Letter and picking up awards along the way, and maintains his interest in the written word, with a regular column in Metro.
He also co-wrote and presented the BBC2 sports documentary The 85 Final: Davis vs Taylor.
During 2020 Colin recorded his podcast series “At Home With Colin Murray” where he talked to some of the biggest names in sport in a truly unique setting…either his house or theirs! Interviewees included Steve Davis, Barry Hearn, and Jurgen Klopp.

Magical Bones is considered one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the Magic scene in recent years
Starting out as a professional hip-hop dancer and now focusing on his career as a magician, Bones’ uniqueness resides in his ability to effectively fuse mind-blowing magic with street-dance culture, music & lifestyle. He is a one-off and will provide some magical entertainment for the ceremony.
2020 saw Bones make the final of Britain’s Got Talent with his audition logging over 10 million online views and the judges describing his act as the ‘best-presented magic act I’ve ever seen!’ Among his other TV credits are the BAFTA awards (BBC1), Penn & Teller Fool Us (US network- The CW), Around the World in 80 Tricks (Amazon), Pure Magic (BBC) and This Morning (ITV). In 2022 Bones was the 2nd placed winner for ITV’s Christmas special The Ultimate Magician. On the live stage, his second show Soulful Magic premiered at Fringe 2022 and went on a nationwide tour in the spring of 2023.
